November was a very busy month for Den 7.
The Tiger Cubs learned the Cub Scout Promise, The Law of the Pack along
with all the other requirements needed to earn their Bobcat Badge.
The Bobcat Badge was awarded to the Tigers during November’s pack
meeting. We are all very proud of them.
Many of Tigers also participated in one or both of our scheduled “Go
See It” activities in November; visiting Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company
and/or the McCandless Police Station.
The “Go See It” tied into the required Tiger Achievement 2G: Visit a
Fire or Police Station. This visit also tied in well with what the boys
were learning in school and practicing at home: 3Fa Plan and Practice a
Fire Drill and 3Fb Develop a Plan if you get lost as well as some of
the Tiger Electives (Emergency & Smoke Detectors).
Tigers of Den 7 continue to work on the final requirements for their
Tiger Badge including several fun "go and see its" during January and
February. Jon Delano, Politics and Money Editor of KDKA TV took
them on a personal tour of KDKA studios where the kids got to sit
behind the anchor desk. They were fascinated by the number of
cameras and the use of the "blue screen" to display the weather.
During den meetings, we took this opportunity to focus on their
weather belt loops including the water cycle and the construction of
their own weather stations.
February, the Den 7 visited the Heinz History Museum. The boys
enjoyed a personal tour arranged by Mrs. Lisa Seekins. This
activity also fit nicely with the upcoming Blue and Gold Banquet theme
of Pittsburgh's 250th Anniversary.
one more piece of exciting news - Ryan Cameron of Den 7 recently
welcomed a new baby brother to his family. Adam Cameron will surely be
a future Tiger like his big brother. To help out Ryan's family,
the Den gathered at Jacob Miller's house where they made lasagne,
Jell-O and brownies for the Camerons. Special thanks to Jacob's
mom Melissa for organizing the cooking activity.
